Things Learned, Things Forgotten

In the two years I have spent raising my boys, I have learned and forgotten many things.

What I've learned:
- Kix Cereal stays crunchy when stored under the couch no matter how long it has been there.
- One dirty diaper hidden in the hatch of a van is all it takes to clear your sinuses.
- Even the smallest runny nose leaves a huge mess on a shoulder.
- Don't go home for lunch before a meeting.
- Patience, truly, is a virtue.

What I've Forgotten:
- What it's like to eat a bowl of cereal by myself.
- What it's like to go an entire day without a hug.
- What it's like to go an entire day without hearing "I love you, too, daddy."
- How it feels to sleep in a bed without two feet atop my face.
- How it feels to be alone.

I'm thankful for everything they have taught me and everything they helped me forget about.
